Roger was born in greater Los Angeles, and has also lived in San Francisco, Scottsdale, New York City, and yes, Amsterdam. In addition he has visited more than 40 countries, including 20+ during 2005 on a full-year round the world trip.

His fondness for Amsterdam stems from around 20 short trips to the city made while exploring Europe in the 90s and 00s. Somehow a planned week-long trip to London would become 4 days in London and 3 days in Amsterdam, over and over again.

In all these random visits, and then later as a resident, Roger has stayed in nearly every neighborhood and visited nearly every attraction in Amsterdam, but it never seems to get old to him, and the gorgeous scenery, friendly people, and nearly-car-free city center continue to call him back at least once a year.
