The nerds who do the technical stuff on Amsterdamlogue are still working on the upcoming map feature for this site, but they have now completed a really cool interactive map feature on some of the main travel guide pages for BootsnAll.com, which is the main site on the travel network that hosts Amsterdamlogue and many others.
The new map on the mini Amsterdam travel guide over there can be accessed by clicking on the Map tab on the navigation bar near the top of the page, or you can go to it directly on this Amsterdam map link. It’s probably easiest to use if you zoom in one level and then move the map around with your mouse.
You’ll see attractions on the map denoted with a star, and clicking on the star will bring up a detailed description in a new mini-window. There are also hotels, hostels, apartments, guesthouses, and campgrounds shown on the map, so you can instantly see where these places are in relation to the attractions and each other, and more information on each is available with one click.
Travel guide upgrade
The new map feature is only one of quite a few that have recently been added to BootsnAll’s extensive travel guide section that is easily reached by clicking on the map on the BootsnAll home page. These travel guides aren’t meant to be your one-stop source for destination information, but they are great for a short introduction to places you are considering a visit to, especially now that they have maps and another Information tab, which can give you some critical facts to help your early trip planning.
It’s pretty easy to find travel guide information if you search around, but the cool part with this is virtually every country in the world is there, as are almost all the world’s major cities and quite a few lesser known ones as well. It can be fun to daydream about future trips by clicking around to get the highlights of any place you might ever consider visiting.
The interactive maps are now part of the following travel guides:
- Hong Kong
- New York
- San Francisco
- Washington DC
